Exercise Physiology

Exercise is Medicine! Exercise Physiology (EP) prescribes exercise-based interventions to address your unique health requirements. This involves treating chronic health conditions, injury rehab and improving general fitness to optimise health,
function, recovery, and independence.

Exercise Physiology at our clinic utilises evidence-based movement as medicine to manage chronic conditions and restore overall physical function. We go beyond standard fitness by applying clinical physiology to movement, enabling us to manage energy levels, fatigue, and complex cardiovascular or respiratory conditions. Our fundamental goal is helping you find freedom back in your body through mindful movement and an improved awareness of body, without fear and worsening symptoms in the process.

This approach is for you if…

This is designed for those who have found traditional exercise unsuitable—perhaps leading to increased pain, fatigue, or a feeling of being "unsafe" in their movements. We work with patients managing chronic diseases (such as diabetes or heart health issues) and those recovering from long-term injuries who seek to improve performance through scientifically backed programming.

Your questions resolved in one place

We’ve gathered the most frequently asked questions from our patients. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, let us know and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Can I claim Exercise Physiology on my private health insurance?

Yes. Exercise Physiology is covered by most major private health funds under extras cover. Because rebates vary depending on your specific provider and policy, we recommend checking your exact coverage levels before your visit.

Do I need a doctor's referral to book a session?

No, private patients can book an appointment directly with us at any time. However, a GP referral is required if you are seeking subsidised treatment pathways through Medicare, DVA, or third-party work/accident rehabilitation schemes.

What happens during my initial consultation?

We will review your medical history, discuss your specific physical goals, and perform a comprehensive movement assessment. From there, we build a tailored active treatment plan designed to fix the root cause of your symptoms.

What is an Exercise Physiologist, and how do they differ from a personal trainer?

Unlike general trainers, Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university-qualified allied health professionals. We design clinical, evidence-based exercise interventions specifically for managing chronic conditions, medical complexities, and long-term injuries.
